Look Arlington: An Unexpected Arts Experience, transformed a vacant commercial building into a fun, inventive, and interactive POP-UP art space. This week is the second of three weekends with art exhibits, performances, and hands-on workshops and classes. Funded in part through a grant from an Arlington Arts Creative Placemaking Grant, the gallery is a bold new platform for showcasing the diverse talents of artists from across the DMV area, while also creating space for neighborhood-level engagement and cultural exploration. Look Arlington will host a variety of emerging and established local artists, along with live performances, local food offerings and dining incentives, and artist-led workshops. Workshop registration is on-site only with sign-ups starting on Friday at 6:00pm for each weekend’s classes. View the schedule of performance, workshops, and other activities.
If you’re interested in public transportation, help pass transit funding in Virginia. I receive email updates from Sustainable Mobility for Arlington County and learned about this initiative through their newsletter.

Join us for a Death Cafe—an open, informal gathering where people come together to talk about death, dying, and the many thoughts and feelings that surround them. There is no set agenda or objective beyond creating a welcoming space for honest conversation. It’s not a grief support group or counseling session, but rather a chance to explore a topic we all share in common. Tea and cake will be served as we reflect, share, and listen in a spirit of curiosity and respect. These conversations are meant to stay in the room—no recordings, note-taking, or sharing of personal details afterward, please. Facilitated by an experienced Death Cafe facilitator. All are welcome.
